A search of British Newspaper Archive comes up with a few adverts for KARVEE - Condensed Pure Coffee for 1896/97. Suggests that this is advertising hoarding for said product (difficult to tell if it's a V or a Y with the lamppost in the way).

The house above is situated in Alma Street. The photographer has their back to Droitwich Road, and the view is down Alma Street.

Repeat of "Old Street Scene- possibly Dolday area. (J0902121E41)" filed in Dolday. However, I think this is looking south along Birdport.

Perhaps Birdport rather than Bank Street?
