On the left, Flight and Barr, Royal China Manufactory ('Royal' since a visit of King George I I I in 1788) one of several nomenclatures by which it was known. In 1807 it changed to Barr, Flight and Barr. Became the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company in 1862. (Information from "Old Worcester: People and Places" by Bill Gwilliam, 1 993.)

The building on the left was the bell tower. A description from "Worcester - The Cathedral and See", "Bell's Cathedrals Series" 1909 edition: "The Clocherium or campanile stood formerly to the north-east of the North-eastern transept. It was octagonal in plan, and consisted of a stone base 60 feet in height, and 61 feet in diameter, surmounted by a wooden spire, the total height being 210 feet. It is said to have been built by Wulstan... and tradition also credits both King John and King Henry I I I with its erection. It was taken down in 1647. "

Left to Right: No. 26, 24 (Packers), 22 and 20 Powick Lane. The passage way to the right of No. 22 leads to Court No. 1, with Court No. 6 and 4 in the background. All these buildings were purchased by Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) circa 1938, by the council and promptly demolished.
